Feeling in a bit of a spiritual rut? Feeling as if your life is missing something?
For many Christians, retreats are the door to a deeper, more enriching communal and personal faith life. Here at St Camillus there are hundreds of people that will testify to that truth in their own lives.
In the past year alone, we have had 14 different retreats, not to mention numerous days of recollection. We have had camping retreats, youth retreats, retreats for men and others for women, and three different ones just for young adults. It is a wonderful way to step out of the daily routine, reconnect with God, while at the same time connect and share with new and old friends.
Upcoming retreats are listed in the upcoming events section on the main page.

Exploring Franciscan Spirituality
What does it mean to be part of a
Franciscan parish?
Anyone who has spent time in our St. Camillus parish family knows there is something special we share in our community. It is difficult to name exactly what this is, but it is safe to say the Franciscan spirit that has been part of our parish since 1984 has something to do with it! In our third parish online retreat, we will explore the spirit of St. Francis that marks our parish as a community seeking solidarity with those who inhabit the margins of our world and striving for justice, peace and the integrity of creation for all God’s creatures.
For six weeks we will hear from different people about dimensions of Franciscan spirituality that shape their lives and how they live Franciscan values as lay people. You are invited to be part of this online retreat experience and explore what it means to be a member of a Franciscan parish and how you can take these Franciscan values from the pew to the world beyond our parish walls.
This online retreat is a little different from our earlier retreats. Participants will be in small groups and will commit to posting at least four times throughout the course of the retreat. There will also be a limited number of spots reserved for people seriously committed to reading, reflecting, and praying with the weekly reflections as part of the retreat community, but who will not necessarily post responses. If this might be you, indicate that you are interested in 'the quiet option' when you register. Because of the nature of this online retreat, we are limiting the number of participants to 30.
The retreat begins on Sunday, April 28 at 6:00 pm with a simple supper, view the short video Reluctant Saint, and hear some thoughts from some of our friars. Each week we will post a brief reflection from one of our parishioners. We will also suggest videos, books, and articles on Franciscan spirituality if you would like to read beyond the weekly reflection offered. Throughout the week, we invite you to pray with the reflection and any other materials on Franciscan spirituality that you are reading and share any of your insights, questions, or ponderings online with the other participants. We will close the retreat on Sunday, June 9 with a simple supper and sharing.

Encountering the Living God: An Online Retreat by Parishioners of St. Camillus |
|
|
|
The People of God believes that it is led by the Lord's Spirit, Who fills the earth. Guadium et Spes, 11
These words from Gaudium et Spes, the Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the Modern World issued at the close of Vatican II in 1965, remind us that we can encounter our life-giving God throughout the world when we open our eyes and hearts to God. Each week for the next few months parishioners from our St. Camillus family will be sharing their encounters with the living God, how they have met God in the people and places that fill their days. We invite you to be part of this intentional time of reflection and sharing, this retreat. It will be an opportunity to grow in your awareness of God’s presence in your own life and to see the presence of God in the lives of those who walk the journey of faith with you at St. Camillus. Our prayer and sharing help us to build stronger relationships and a stronger St. Camillus community
