The parish AIM group conducted listening sessions November through January with approximately 200 parishioners (results below).
Affordable Quality Housing, for tenants and owners. (Tenants’ rights as well.)
Public Transportation. schedules, cost, access, complexity, lack of sidewalks.
Affordable Health Care, no insurance; mental health; vision and dental care.
Immigration Issues, help in knowing and accessing services, etc.
Inability to make ends meet, job insecurity, rising costs of living, rent, child care.
The first three issues also surfaced in the AIM county-wide listening sessions. The fifth issue came from our Food Pantry Clients. The fourth, immigration issue, was unique to our parish. We plan to explore this issue and work toward solutions with parish language groups. If you are interested in helping contact St. C’s AIM Group through [email protected] or 301-461-8707.
